Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist. She was born on July 6, 1907 in Coyoacan, Mexico. When she was 15 she was in a bad accident on a bus. She was badly injured and was crippled for the rest of her life.

Frida Kahlo taught herself to paint. In 1929 she married the famous artist Diego Rivera. They didn't have a good marriage and often separated. They even got divorced and remarried.

Most of Frida's paintings are self-portraits that show her suffering. She also has symbols of Mexican history in her paintings. She died on July 13, 1954.
