Bombing of Pearl Harbor

One of the most historical events in the history of the United States was the Pearl Harbor attack in the 1940s. The surprise attack from Japan devastated the whole country.

At 6:00a.m. December 7, 1941, a carrier-based airplane was launched on the Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii. The United States’ military center was completely destroyed, 2335 servicemen and 68 civilians were killed and 1178 were wounded. The attack was caused over the disagreements between the countries over the issues of China and the Southeast Asia. Also in 1941, the U.S. issued an embargo which Americans stopped trading with Japan. The country was shocked.

The attack woke the Americans up to the outside world. They have to rebuild their country and take measures toward the Japanese for their action. They have to strengthen their homeland security and prevent this to happen again.
