Microwave Oven
The microwave oven was invented by Percy Spencer in 1945. This miracle invention allowed food to be cook quickly and made life more convenient for many Americans.
Microwave oven was first thought of when scientist Percy Spencer was doing a research on microwave. He was experimenting with a vacuum tube called magnetron and found that the candy bar in his pocket had melted. He started to test this microwave with different foods such as eggs and popcorn and later, he created a metal box and let in microwave power. The energy built in the microwave box created high density and the temperature in the metal box rose quickly as time passes. After many trials, a microwave oven was created.
The first microwave was about 5 ½ feet high, 750 pounds and selling for $5,000 each. As the invention’s price dropped over the years, microwave oven became a new way of cooking.
