Shroud of Turin
Additional Distinctions

Timelines of History

I will add the link as a reference along with previous data on the "shroud."

1260-1390 Carbon-14 dating techniques in 1988 determined that the cloth of the Shroud of Turin dated to this period. E.T. Hall (d.2001) of Oxford Univ. led the testing, which was later held in question. In 1978 Walter C. McCrone (d.2002), chemical analyst, determined that the image was painted on the cloth some 1300 years after the crucifixion of Christ. (www.tqnyc.org/NYC063363/)

I looked at the website, and found it to be absolutely fascinating.
We have discussed the camera obscura, as well as other topics related to science and society. We are in the process of reorganizing our academic year smile writeups into categories and sub-categories, in connection with our "smart" program. This probably goes into either science and society or else into teaching methods.

I will present the information at our next meeting --- after which it will go into our writeup database. Thanks for calling this to my attention.

ArtiFAQ 2100 and King Tut are also listed under Art History on Art Styles page.

Thanks for sharing them with me.
