The Reproductive System of the body is a very important system. None of us would be here without it. It is the system that promotes life and the birth of new living things. There are two reproductive systems-male and female. They are both different in the shape and function.
The Male Reproductive System:

The male reproductive system involves the genitals. The genitals include
the penis, testicles, the duct system, and the accessory glands.
When a boy reaches a mature age, his body changes and he develops the ability
to make and hold millions of sperm cells. These sperm cells are made in
the two testes or testicles. Inside the testicles, there is a hormone that's
made. It's called Testosterone. This hormone is the one that's in charge
of puberty. Puberty is when boys develop deeper voices, big muscles, and
they grow more body hair. Puberty usually happens between the ages of 10-14.
The hair also begins to grow on their faces. Testosterone is very important
when it comes to making sperm. Those tiny sperm cells are the things needed
to reproduce.
The testicles are stored inside a pouch called the scrotum. It looks like
a bag. It is responsible for keeping the testicles warm. When the sperm
is ready to ejaculate or come out, sperm is passed through the penis in
a liquid called semen. The semen enters the female's vagina. If it comes
into contact with a female's egg, it becomes fertilized and that means
it's called a zygote now. Conception has occured and a baby will develop
inside the female. Pretty interesting, isn't it?
The Female Reproductive System

The female reproductive system parts are inside of the pelvis. The outside part is called the Vulva. It covers the opening part of the Vagina. The organs involved in female reproduction are the vagina, the uterus, the fallopian tubes, and the ovaries. Believe it or not, the vagina is a type of muscle. It has the ability to expand or get bigger and contract or get smaller. It needs to do this for a woman to be able to give birth. The vagina has three jobs. It is a way for the penis to get inside to fertilize an egg. It is also necessary for the blood to pass during menstruation. Also, a vagina is needed to delivery a baby. The vagina is attached to the cervix. That's like a doorway to the uterus. The uterus is an organ that looks like a pear. It is responsible for holding the baby until it is ready for delivery. When a female is born, she is born with all of the eggs she is going to have for life. When she is mature, she begins sending eggs down the fallopian tubes from the ovaries into the uterus. Each female has two fallopian tubes. If the eggs are not fertilized, they are passed as blood (menstruation). The first period a girl experiences is called the menarche. This is called your period. Each girl gets a period at a different age and time of the month. A cycle is usually 28 days. A period usually happens once each month and lasts 3-5 days.
Once the sperm fertilizes the egg, it attaches itself to the walls of the uterus and begins to grow. This is called implantation. Then, it's called pregnancy. The zygote will become an embryo and then a fetus. After about 40 weeks or approximately nine months, a baby is born.
