Mobile warfare is a very fast, but complicated kind of warfare.

Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase3
Phase 4 Phase 5 Phase 6

PHASE 1

The attacker's (red's) super formation slams into the defender's line at a concentrated point, supported by the combined firepower of all of red's artillery and any air power that red can muster. Green's tanks - spread out among the infantry - can be destroyed one by one by red's massive tank formation.

The fast moving tank assault begins to break the defensive position.

PHASE 2

Under the weight of the massive and fast moving tank assault, the defense breaks in the assaulted area. Red's artillery and a good deal of supplies are hitched up onto fast moving half-tracks (towing vehicls) that can keep pace with the tanks, who continue to move forward, striking green's unprotected reserves and artillery.

PHASE 3

Having effectively punched a hole through green's line of defense, red's tanks now fan out behind green, cutting off supply lines and lines of communication.

PHASE 4

The artillery begins to form a line behind green, as the fast moving tanks complete the encirclement of green's rear.

PHASE 5

At this stage in the battle, green's fate is effectively sealed. Surrounded on two sides and without any effective way to reinforce, resupply, or even communicate with HQ, the trapped army must either surrender or face annihilation.

PHASE 6

In this scenario, green has chosen to fight to the last. Red's infantry assaults the remaining defenses frontally. Dwindling ammunition and medical supplies hinder the defense, and as red's tanks (aided by artillery) assault the green force's undefended rear, any hope of survival for green is extinguished.
