Q. Does it matter if the shade on the monarch's wings are dark?
A. Well monarchs and a lot more butterflies tend to be orange and black. And it is part of a warning color. As caterpillar's when they eat milkweed. The monarch butterflies are called the milkweed butterflies. In milkweed there is a chemical called alclode which makes the caterpillar's tend to be poisonous.
Q. What are the differences between a male and female monarch butterfly?
A. Females have thicker wing veins.

Q. What is your job here at the Bronx Zoo?
A. My job here is to make sure the butterfly exhibit is under control.
Q. Where and how do you get your food supply for the butterflies?
A. We get two different kinds of food for the butterflies. Some of our nectar plants we get from Florida , USA . We have a whole list of farms where we can take our plants from. We also might buy commercial nectar mix. They will eat anything sugary or sweet that we give them.

Q. How do monarch butterflies communicate with their antennas?
A. Basically they are just scenery organs.
Q. Is the population of the monarchs decreasing and how?
A. There is debate rights now….. Some people think they are fine some think they are going down.
