    The Sahara Desert is a natural wonder. The desert is located on the continent of Africa. The Sahara Desert is a wonder because its size and its
formation. The Sahara Desert    is still growing. This desert is   the largest desert.   The     Sahara Desert covers one third of the African continent. It is about   3.5 million square miles.  It is 15% sand dunes and 70% stone desert. The rest of the desert   is mountains and oases. It is also the hottest desert on Earth.   The Sahara Desert is almost    the same size as the United States of America. The desert moves slowly spreading southwards.                                            
     Aswan High Dam
    
The Aswan High Dam is a man-made structure. It is located in Aswan, Egypt on the continent of Africa. It was built between 1960 -1970. It was built using sand, gravel, dirt and rocks. It is amazing for three reasons. One of them is for its construction. It is one of the largest Dams ever built. The second reason is for its size. This famous place is 360 feet high and two miles bank to bank. The third reason is for its function. The Aswan High Dam is very special because it provides electricity for the Egyptians. It also helps farms protect the crops from floods. This Dam was made to protect people from danger in Egypt. The Aswan High Dam is interesting because it was built across the Nile River.
