Coney Island is known for it's boardwalk. The Riegelmann Boardwalk, was was bulit in 1923. It is named after the Brooklyn Borough President, Edward Riegelmann. He wanted to make Coney Island beautiful and famous. People owned land on the waterfront, bathouses were popular and there was a new subway that went to Coney Island. But the boardwalk really brought people to Coney Island.
Today it is still a place for people to visit.
