The Inca mined in the mountains and streams for precious metals such as gold, silver, copper and tin. Metalworkersused copper and bronze to make tools such as digging sticks and weapons such as knives and spears. Gold and silver were used to make ornaments and jewelry for the nobles, the royal family and the Sapa Inca. Gold and silver were also used to make gifts for the gods and the masks that the priests wore at festivals.
