Geography - Introduction

The Aztecs were a group of people who lived in south central Mexico from about 1325 to 1521 CE. The land they lived on contained coastal regions, mountains, fertile plains and rainforests. . The Gulf of Mexico and the North Pacific Ocean were the two coastal bodies of water bordering the Aztec empire.  Although the Aztec Empire stretched all the way from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico, the main Aztec settlements were located in the Valley of Mexico.
