Introduction

Geography - Rainforests

The Aztec territory contained a wide stretch of rainforests around it. In these almost desolate rainforests lived a certain ant, which later became known as the Aztec ant. These ants lived in a tree, which holds many insects inside, feeding on the sugary substance produced by the tree. During the rainy season, the rainforests are hot and steamy. They are covered in a mist, which makes it very difficult for people to find their way through. Most of the Aztec empire was covered with these thick and foggy rainforests. The rainforest was also the source of many of the tropical fruits and vegetables that the Aztec domesticated and ate.
