The Erie Canal is famous for itís transportation. People tell stories and sing songs about the Erie Canal. It was proposed in 1808 and completed in the year of 182 It stretches from Albany to Buffalo. The person that decided to build the Erie Canal (a.k.a. the official person who built the Erie Canal) was named DeWitt Clinton. There are very few names for the Erie Canal. One name for it would be ìThe Eighth Wonder of the Worldî. Another name was ìClintonís Big Ditchî. Also, well the ìErie Canalî of course. The Erie Canal was 70 feet wide and 7 feet deep. There was 57 locks on the Erie Canal. The Erie Canal was exactly 363 miles long. It took 17 years to complete the Erie Canal. There is only one web site I have gotten information from.
