Our Goal

(The Goddess Selket watches over the King Tut in the treasury chamber)

What prompted us to make the project was our pen pal relationship with Brazil. The students in that school asked the students in John F. Kennedy High School a series of questions. We answered those questions and developed a series of web pages in support of those inquiries. Besides answering the series of questions that the Brazilian students sent us, through this website we have learned the true meaning of teamwork.

We would like to thank the ThinkQuest NYC program for providing us with an opportunity, which helped develop our imaginative skills through Internet research, and helping us realize that it holds powerful sources of information. We would also like to thank the websites mentioned in our links section for helping us use some of their pictures and articles, which helped us develop our website. We developed the King Tut project to uncover the myth of the curse, an interactive quiz to see King Tut smile, a puzzle, a joke, and the decoding of some hieroglyphics. We were fascinated by all the things relating to King Tut while we were creating this site. We have put our hard work into building this website. We hope you get out of this website what we intended for you to get out of it, which is to leave this website with more knowledge and interest on King Tut's history. We hope that you come back to visit our website in the near future.

Participation:
We maintain six methods for public participation.

  1. We distribute public announcement monthly newsletter related to the project. Anyone may subscribe by sending email with the words "Subscription Request" in the Subject: Field.
  2. There is a site survey for visitors to evaluate our resource and to provide feedback to the students who created the site.
  3. An interactive Guestbook is provided so the public can send questions, evaluations and add their own insights to our project.
  4. Participants can create and send free musical digital postcards in 23 languages.
  5. Solve an interactive Lock-Key puzzle. Successful completion reveals an animated reward.
  6. Anyone who manages a website may apply for the Select Site Award. The Mona Lisa Select Site Award Program is rated with Award Sites!
