Chinese Cultural Facts

Commonly produced foods in China are wheat, rice, corn, potatoes, meat, fish, fruit, and various vegetables, all foods used in most of the world. Other, less known ingredients are the spices and herbs used the much Chinese cooking. In China, eating is widely considered a social event, dinner being the most sociable and substantial of the three meals, usually consisting of many courses. However for lunch some might dumplings, rice or noodles, some vegetables, and some meat. All of these foods are commonly eaten with chopsticks, a practice that can take time for a foreigner to master.
