Spanish Cultural Facts

Spanish crops greatly vary, depending on where in Spain you are. For instance lemons, wine grapes, olives, and oranges are common in southern and eastern Spain. On the Canary Islands, bananas are grown. In northern Spain the crops consist mainly of potatoes, barely, and wheat, while on the Balearic island of Majorca olives and grapes are major crops.
In addition to these crops, Spain is also famous for the great amount of fishing that takes place in northern Spain. Most catches there are either anchovies, sardines, tuna, hake, cod, octopus, or squid. Also Spanish, along with Italian, gelato is very well known. So wherever you go in Spain, the food is always great.
