Caribbean Desserts

Caribbean cooking is influenced by a wide variety of countries because of the many different peoples that have come to the islands over time. Rather than the more western sweet desserts, Caribbean desserts tend to be made with fruit. This is because fruits like bananas, coconuts and pineapples to mangoes, papayas and even custard apples are very common in the Caribbean. Some of the desserts made with fruit include puddings, sherbert, and ice cream.
