Greek Desserts (Glykismata)Because of its location, Greek cooking contains both European and Middle Eastern influence. One of the most well-known Greek desserts is probably Baklava. This dessert is made by layering phyllo dough with nuts and a sweet, honey-based syrup. Phyllo, a paper-thin pastry dough, and various nuts are used to make many other Greek Desserts, such as Galaktobouriko. Pecan, walnuts, almonds, and pistachios are the most common nuts used. |
