German Potato Soup

This soup is a typical soup found in holiday or festive meals, it is usually served with creamed herring, cucumber and sour cream salad, rolladen, your choice of a potato and vegetable dish, and baked apples.

Ingredients:

2 large, raw potatoes

6 stalks of celery

1lb tomatoes

2 carrots

2 leeks

1/2lb green beans

1lb round steak, or other beefsteak, cubed

salt and pepper to taste

1tsp paprika

1/4cup parsley, chopped

1/4cup chives chopped

4 beef bouillon cubes

Instructions:

1) Wash all the vegetables and cut into bite sized pieces

2)Put the beef, vegetables, meat, salt, paprika, herbs, and beef bouillon cubes in a large pot and fill with water. Bring water to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for three hours.

Serves 6-8 people
