Blocked toe shoes had not yet been invented and dancers strengthened their light slippers with darning. Ballet dancers just ignore the law of gravity as they float through the air.

Performers have to keep their shoulders back, legs straight, and toes pointed. Dancers have to on have to think of these positions and always have to smile. Ballet requires strength and years on mental and physical training.

The costumes for performances depend on what the class dances to. Many dancers specialize in ballet to exclude of other dance forms. Some dancers get their costumes from movies.
