Newton's Castle
Our friends at ThinkQuest, the site that awards postings to student developed sites in their Library, have informed us of a recent addition, Newton's Castle. Newton's Castle is 'a fun filled educational adventure into the life and legend of Sir Isaac Newton.' As Newton himself said, "If I have seen further than others, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants." Now you too can stand on the shoulders of this giant by taking this 'stimulating journey' into his revelations. "Learn about his discovery of Gravity and Optical Theories. Learn why cars roll uphill, why dogs chase cars. . ." After you've finished your tour of the Castle be sure to take the quiz for a preview of the Museum of Modern Art opening. Be forewarned, it's not the crip quiz that it appears to be!
Appreciate your thinking of us. I do the student/children sites on Fridays. The teachers will love this one!

7. Newton's Castle
Students can learn about Earth's rotation, optical illusions,
logic puzzles, color, and more at this interactive Web site
dedicated to the discoveries of Sir Isaac Newton. The site,
which also offers thought-provoking questions for teachers or
students to use to foster further discussion, was created by the
students at John F. Kennedy High School, in the Bronx, in
collaboration with kids at England's Thomas Hepburn School.
Though the site content is geared toward middle schoolers and
high schoolers, it offers plenty of interesting facts and
puzzles for older minds, too. Visit Newton's Castle at the link
below.

Dear Mr. Feld:
I have added a link to the Newton's Castle page here.
Newton is one of my heros and apparently we share an interest in mysticism. I would appreciate it if you would let me know if you have any information on where these papers might be viewed.

Hello Steve,
Thank you for recommending your excellent site. I will link to it after Hurricane Wilma and power restoration!
Thank you for your good wishes and concern regarding Hurricane Wilma. We had no loss of life, thank G-d, but did sustain some damage...nothing that can't be fixed, though. What a humongous mess! The schools in Broward County have been closed for two weeks and will reopen tomorrow. There are still many thousands of people without power but, every day, there is more progress.
Now that power has finally been restored here, I was just sitting down to work on adding links!
Congratulations on your Cyberbee Pick of the Month and Earth Science Site of the Week.
Your site has now been added to our links. Please check it out here.
Thank you, again, for informing me of your site.
Continued success...

What a lovely site, Mr. Feld! I'm happy to recommend it. I read both

and I usually mine them for great gems like your site, but somehow I missed
Newton's Castle last week! Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'll
also feature it, after Global Education Week, as a web pick on our main

Thanks again, and all the best to you!

Hello,
Your website seems like great fun and would make an excellent addition to our link page. I hope you have enjoyed Mad Physics Dot Com as well. Feel free to link to it from your site. I thought that if your students had any questions they could ask Mad Physics and we could put posts on our respective sites about it. That's one idea, but I'd love to hear more from you.

Mac's Pick of the Week
Hi Steve
I had a look at your site and have bookmarked it for a Pick of the Week
award. It is well done and shows the many things Children (and some of us
Older folk as well - lol) should know.
You can, if you wish, also have a link back to my site, but there is
absolutely NO obligation to do so. You didn't know you would be picked or
indeed, even considered, as a Pick of the Week, so though I appreciate any
links to my site, there is absolutely no obligation on your part to make
one. You are, and will remain, one of Mac's Picks of the Week for this week,
and in my appropriate archive page for one year. *smile*
Thank you for the time taken in maintaining your site, and may your fortunes
increase and your web presence grow.
Thank you for your submission and best wishes to you and the others who
contribute to this site. I will notify you when it has been made a Pick of
the Week.
Thanks again.

Congratulations Steve Feld, your website has won the Alcazaren Bronze Award. What has been evaluated is the content, design and navigation of the Newton's Castle page. It has been a pleasure to get in touch with your website and I am very happy to offer the mentioned award. The opportunity that is provided to explore Newton's discoveries and secrets is very interesting and rewarding, the award is well deserved.

Dr. Fred's Science Blog
Dear Steve,
Nice work! I've given it a plug on my blog.
My present project is a history of physics in the 20th century, to be published by Facts on File in 2007 (spring, probably), and I just signed up to do a collaborative book with Donald Cleveland called Information in Nature and Technology, which will be published by Lerner in 2008.
Thanks for giving me something to blog about.
I'll close as I often do: I hope you always follow your questions!
Scientifically yours,
