Dear Steve,
I am delighted that you liked my art. I was impressed with your Leonardo site. Actually I am reading "The DaVinci Code" and it prompted me to review and investigate further info. Of course your students can use my art to enhance their web site presentation but I would have to see and approve which images prior to release. Credit and link are always appreciated. Besides I was born and grew up in the BRONX. Promoting art through education has been a cornerstone of my business. Please keep me informed. Sincerely, Roberta Rosenthal

Dear Roberta,
I am very impressed with your botanicals and in particular the oriental paintings. My students are currently creating a website about Chinese Medicine and your paintings would substancially enhance their presentation. Would it be possible for them use your work in this manner? A sample page has been created to give you an idea of how the fan can be represented, with your approval. . http://www.tqnyc.org/NYC040688/abstract.htm The image illuminates the manuscript. I am so pleased you came to my students Leonardo site through your research. Their work has yielded many scholarships and prizes for them I would like to thank you in advance for your generous contribution towards that goal.

Best regards,
Steve Feld

Dear Steve,
Wow it looks great. Thank you for appreciating my work. I was the first person to get artists jobs in the computer graphics industry in '80 -'83 at the Graphic Artists Guild NY as their executive director of job placement otherwise known as GoodWorks. I also went back to the H.S. of Art & Design, one of my alma matas, and mentored several of their students. Helping high school students is one of my hobbies. It is at that point in life when they need that extra boost to get them to go on and achieve their life goals. If you ever need a speaker at the JFK H.S. let me know I would be thrilled to talk about art career goals. Best wishes for the holidays. Roberta Rosenthal

I am a trained entomologist (insects and arachnids) and nature photographer. Knowing the behavior of particular insects, and where and when they are available, gives me a definite advantage in capturing them on film.

My site doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, rather it's very simple, so all the attention can be focused on the actual photos, themselves.

Thank you for your consideration of my site for your award.

    Sincerely, Bob Jensen

First, I appreciate receiving your checklist form and I have some questions re: its use. Did you intend for teachers to complete this form as a prerequisite and submit it when they submit the WebQuest? Or did you intend it for our (staff developers) use? One of our problems has been that teachers generally ignore looking at the checklist and submit WebQuests with numerous items on the checklist missing. Will requiring them to do a checklist form like this at the time of submission improve the WebQuests? I think so, but my colleague, Joe, does not. He thinks it will only be viewed as an additional bureaucratic step, and that teachers will simply spend ten seconds checking all of the "yes" choices.

Overall, I think it would hopefully force teachers to consider the criteria prior to submission, but Joe is probably right (he usually is).

    Dear Jim,

I've developed an online version of the TIPS WebQuest check-off which can be easily adapted to collect, collate and verify projects' compliance by participants. http://users.erols.com/sjfeld/tipsppa.htm

Let me know about its applicability. I would like to develop a similar form for the PowerPoint component.

    Best wishes,
    Steve Feld
