Our Crew

Our Think Quest team is made up of four members-Maire, Danielle, Olivia, and Erin. We started this website for a Spanish project. We thought it would be fun to create a website about the Real pirates of the Caribbean. We always see this mass hysteria on TV and in the movies so we decided to create a website that told the viewers what pirates were really like. Our group started this project in October. We gathered a ton of information on pirates and went through all the data we collected. We then highlighted and put everything in our own words. Then we typed up the info and put in the graphics. We all had fun working on this project and hope that you enjoy it.
Maire- "The Technical Expert"
Hi, I did most of the technical stuff on the website. The group thought that graphics would make the website more appealing and fun to viewers so I looked up royalty-free animated GIFs that went with and accented our pirate theme. I found a lot of GIFs such as skeletons, pirates, birds, and etc. I worked with the hyperlinks, fonts, and other interactive items in our website. I added hyperlinks to the buttons and other images and I worked with the use of tables in our website. We thought that tables would be easier for viewers to read. I worked on the game pages as well. I went back and forth to make sure that the hyperlinks worked and that there were no glitches while uploading the pages and images. I also helped look up information and type some of the pages for this website.
Danielle-"The Typist"
Hi, I did most of the typing for the pages, since I am one of the fastest typist in the group. Olivia usually read the information off to me as we summarized the information. I helped look up some of the information and figure out what we needed and what we could get rid of. If we didn't know what a word meant, Olivia and I usually looked it up in the dictionary. I worked a lot on the Pirates: Fact from Fiction page and on the History page. I spent a lot of time gathering information and typing it up. I helped with the hyperlinks and making sure that everything looked good once it was up on the web. I went through the website to check for errors and other little details that we could have missed. I also helped pick out the background and pick out the uniform font for this website.
Olivia-"The Research Specialist"
Hi, I looked up a lot of the information in the group. I went to different websites and gathered information for the pages. I went through the information to make sure that we could use it. The good information we kept, the useless information I discarded. I summarized most the information so that Danielle could type it onto the page. If we didn't know a word, Danielle and I looked it up in the dictionary or thesaurus. I also helped Erin when the website was uploaded to look for glitches and errors in the site. I checked the hyperlinks to make sure they worked and read over the whole website. I checked to see if the graphics appeared on different browsers and made sure that everything looked good.
Erin-"The Reference Girl"
Hi, I was the reference girl for this website. I went to a lot of websites and double checked the information that we had to make sure that everything was correct. I also looked up some pirate legends and helped look up information. I typed some information on the Pirates: Fact from Fiction page and I was the reference for the story about Peter Pan. I was also in charge of making the crafts. I thought some of these would be interesting for kids of all ages to do. When the website was fully uploaded I checked for grammatical, technical, and other errors that might occur while uploading. I read the information and checked all the links. I helped to choose the background and pick out some of the graphics that went with this website.
Our website is dedicated to Theresa Rothschild, Danielle's aunt.
