Russell Norton Boardman and John Louis Polandoflew this Bellanca CH Pacemaker named "Cape Cod" to Istanbul. As the runway at Floyd Bennett was just 5,000 feet long, they needed to remove a fence and clear a parking lot to add another thousand feet to meet their required takeoff distance! The phone and electric poles were even taken down on Flatbush Avenue.

James Mattern and Bennett Griffin flew this Lockheed Vega from FBF to Harbor Grace, Newfoundland, and then non-stop Germany. They continued as far as Russia but failed going around the entire world.

Colonel George Hutchinson and his family flew this Sikorsky amphibian from Floyd Bennett Field, but made a forced landing in Greenland. They were rescued two days later.

James G. Haizlip flew a Weddell-Williams from Floyd Bennett Field to Los Angeles, California, in 10 hours, establishing a new transcontinental record!

D.W. Tomlinson and J.S. Bartles flew a TWA Douglas DC-1 and broke 14 speed records at Floyd Bennett Field, show how transport planes with heavy loads can still fly fast.

Francisco Sarabia flew a Gee Bee Racer from Mexico City to Floyd Bennett Field beating the non-stop record flight time of Amelia Earhart on 5/8/35.
