The Aztecs lived in the city of Tenochtitlan, which stood in present day Mexico City. The Aztecs would conquer anyone who wouldn't pay their taxes. In a result most of central Mexico became a part of Aztec rule. The Aztecs land whose ruled by one person the nations ruler. Then in 1450 the Aztecs, had a drought for four years. This period of short rain fall led to a terrible period of famine. They also had a shortage of animals because they all fled to other cities that weren't experiencing drought. Their plants and crops died out because of the drought. As a result they lost power because they were weak. They also started having huge human scarifies to the rain god and the sun god to stop the drought. The drought ended in 1454 after four long years. The drought was the only huge geography problem of the Aztecs.
