Animal
cruelty is defined as any means of violence and hurting
animals for many reasons or forms of animal neglect. Some
examples of animal cruelty include: animal hoarding (the
collection of and neglecting of many pets by one owner),
ear cropping (a form of plastic surgery for dogs which
makes their ears appear any way the owner wants them to
look; it is illegal in most countries) and dog fighting
(making dogs fight for your own entertainment). There
are many other types of animal cruelty as well. If you
suspect someone is abusing their pet or other animals,
you can call the ASPCA Humane Law Enforcement Department
at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4450, or email humanelaw@aspca.org.
That way you can stop animal cruelty and save that animal's
life. You can also join anti-animal
cruelty clubs or organizations dedicated to help fight
animal abusers and eventually, the number of abused animals
will decrease. You should also be aware of the many laws
that protect pets.
