The Roaring 1920's was a great, fun-filled decade in the United States. The 1920's  was a fast-paced otherwise "Roaring" time to be. Jazz and blues were "in" along with the flapper look and dance marathons. Charlie Chaplin and Harry Houdini entertained America while Georgia O'Keefe and Ernest Hemmingway played major roles in the arts and literature.

An event that had a  huge impact on the U.S.  during the twenties was The Volstead Act, also known as the Prohibition Act. This act prohibited the consumption of alcohol, creating a public uproar. More, and more people started buying and selling alcohol illegally.

Another event that greatly affected the twenties was the Stock Market Crash. It caused many to go broke. The 1920's was also a time of great technological advancement. Affordable cars were on the market and the vital medication, Penicillin was invented. In the entertainment field the silent movies became popular. One of the best known silent films comedian ever, Charlie Chaplin, kept America laughing. People tapped to the jazz played by Louis Armstrong and hummed to Bessie Smith's blues. And the fashion? What was better than the rebelling Flapper look! The Twenties was an important decade in American history. You'll have as much fun learning about the Twenties as they had living it!
