Hunting in Hawaii: Believe it or not hunting does occur in Hawaii. Though we think of it as an Island of paradise you’ll be surprised. To hunt in Hawaii is mandatory to have a license. To get a license in Hawaii you have to have a letter of Exemption or a certificate of the Hunter Education Course. This states that they have gone to hunting school. These particular documents must always be carried around while hunting. The types of animals that are hunted in Hawaii are pigs, deer, goat, and sheep. To hunt I Hawaii you need a license for each particular animal that you’re hunting almost. The rules are that if you do hunt with a bow and arrow you can not put poison or drugs on the tip of the arrow. Also no person is allowed to have a gun in public if they do not have a license of Hawaii. The cost of license for residents is $10.00 the most. For non-residents it is $50.00. The areas where you can hunt in Hawaii are the Kalu Forest Reserve and the Puu O Umi Natural Area Reserve among others. As for the hunting season it all depends on the type of animal that you want to hunt. Example: If you want to hunt a duck hunt it between the months of April and March. |
