Hunting in Michigan:

Adolescents in Michigan can start hunting at the age of 12, but they require a license. If you don’t have a license then you can go hunting as long as you go with an adult who does have a license and if you do not have a bow and arrow and if you don’t possess a firearm. It is vital that every person in Michigan starting at age 12 have a license. In this particular state adolescents can have resident or junior licenses.  To get a license in Michigan you have to have some sort of ID like a driver’s license. You must have a card that states that you are a resident in Michigan. All individuals who are born after January 1, 1960, according to the state of Michigan individuals must have a Hunter Safety Certificate similar to other states. You must always carry this paper with you when hunting at all times. This goes to adolescents as well except that they don’t have to go through training to get a license. Though, they have to be in school full time.

Hunters in Michigan need a license for the types of animals that they are going to hunt. Example if they are going to hunt turkeys then they a need a license, if they are going to hunt bears then they need a license to hunt a bear as well. The most that you will spend on a license in Michigan is $150.00 for non-residents, for residents it is a lot cheaper. The most that you will spend is $20.00.

The species that are hunted in Michigan are bobcats, raccoon, beaver, muskrats, and otters. The hunting season in this state varies. It all depends on the type of animal that you are hunting. But originally the season starts from April and ends on September. You can hunt in national parks and in private territories. But if hunting in private territory you need permission from owner and remember that they need to have more than 10 acres of land.
