Hunting in Ohio: Ohio basically offers good quality whitetail deer Waterfowls and Wild Turkey hunting. The whitetail deer is a species of deer that is abundant throughout most of North America. They are smart and elusive which can lead to a very hard hunt. Ohio is also known for their wild turkeys. Wild turkey hunting seasons include wild turkeys (during Fall) which lasts from October 8-23, wild turkeys (during fall and archery only) which lasts from October 24 through November 27, youth only wild turkeys (during Spring) which lasts from April 22-23, and wild turkeys (during Spring) which lasts from April 24 through May 21. When hunting wild turkeys you must follow certain guidelines. Understand that it is unlawful to take more than one turkey per day, to hunt turkey with the aid of bait, to use a live decoy while hunting turkeys, to use electronic calling devices while hunting turkeys, to take or attempt to take a wild turkey while it is in a tree, and to possess a firearm while aiding or assisting another hunter during the hunt that has harvested that particularly turkey.
