Humans are the Giant Pandas largest and number one enemy. Humans still hunt down Pandas for pelt. Pelt is Panda skin. They sell their pelt for money. People make jackets and bags.
Land development is also a problem. The Giant Pandas’ land is being destroyed for new housing, company growth and bamboo is being cut down for sale.
All of these threats have reduced the number of giant panda’s to about 1,600 in the wild. This is why they are endangered.
* endangered-To put in a dangerous situation; to threaten. |
