Meet Our Coach

Ms. Nancy Costa, our ThinkQuest NYC Coach

     This is the second year that I have coached teams for the Thinkquest NYC
website competition. It truly was an extraordinary experience for both me and my
students. Thank you to everyone at ThinkQuest NYC for such a wonderful student
competition.

     I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Region 8's Instructional
Technology Administrative Team, headed by Ms. Barbara Feaster and Ms. Shanell
Richards, for the new technology initiatives, equipment, and professional staff development
provided under Region 8's EETT Federal grant. As this is the final year of the grant,
it is with a tinge of sadness that I offer my heartfelt thanks to all. All of the technology
skills that I've learned over these three years, have been invaluable to me and my students.
It would not be an overstatement to say that it has transformed our school.

     Once again, many thanks are also due to NYC Councilman Bill DeBlasio for his continued
"Resolution A" financial support. We were able to upgrade our computer lab
this year which gave us the opportunity to keep up with the latest instructional software,
allowing us to remain competitive in this website competition.

    None of this would have been possible without the ongoing support of a visionary
school administration and staff, headed by Principal Ruth Quiles and Ass't Principals Jackie
Nikovic and Alina Alvarez. They have embraced and supported every innovative program
presented to our school, including ThinkQuest NYC. Thanks are also due to my very supportive colleagues and parents.

    The real winners of all of this, of course, are the students. I am very proud of the
extraordinary work they have done creating this website.

       Well done, Kids! We are all very proud of each and every one of you!
