.....On..March 13, 2007, our coach, Ms. Costa, and another teacher, Ms. Vido,
took us to see the
Bodies Exhibition in lower Manhattan at the South Street
Seaport. .It was an amazing experience, one we will never forget!

.....At the Exhibition, there are 22 real human bodies that have been preserved
with a special method. This special method keeps the bodies from decaying.
These bodies have been dissected showing the various systems that we have
been studying. There are nine galleries in all, with each gallery displaying a
different body system. All together they have more than 260 individual organs
on display.

....We learned a lot from this trip, especially because we rented the audio
phone which.explained each system as we went through the Exhibition. Some of
the organs we saw were not healthy. We saw what diseased organs looked like,
too.
The organ that really shocked us the most was the smoker's lung. It was
black from inhaled smoke...None of us think that we will ever smoke after seeing
that lung!

....We think that everyone should go to see this exhibit. It really is something
that you will probably never see again. Imagine seeing real muscles, nerves, brains,
kidneys, skeletons, lungs, stomachs, skin, and all the other organs of the human
body up close. It is a once in a lifetime experience.
