Energetic England Part 2
Since
you just read about England's natural resources, I will tell you how
they're using them. England is using 272, 693 (equal to thousand
metric tons of oil) of energy. England gets 201, 296 from fossil fuels,
and only 1, 717 from renewable energy. England doesn't use ANY energy
from the tide, waves, or oceans, and only 0.1 comes from solar energy.
However, England has 50 (egual to thousand metric tons of oil) of
tide, wave, and ocean energy, and the world only has 53. Yet,
England doesn't use any.
England exported 112, 399 (as
you already know, equal to thousand metric tons of oil) and imported
76, 963 in 1997. Also, there was 25, 091 (equal to metric tons of
oil) in 1999, from nuclear energy. The last fact I'm going to
share with you is the one I found most interesting. Did you know
in 1997 the amount of energy one person used was 3.89 (egual to
thousand matric tons of oil)? I know, neither did I. It's
pretty amazing.
