Where did this great popularity come from?

Myspace is currently the most popular Social Networking sites and one of the most popular sites on the entire web. It was founded in July 2003 by Tom Anderson, Chris DeWolfe, and a group of programmers. Since it's founding, it has rapidly grown in popularity. It recieves thousands of new registrations every day. Sites like Myspace allow the user to post their own blogs and blurbs about their life.They also allow for posting of multimedia such as music and videos. Aspiring musicians, politicians, and already famous celebrities even use Social Networking sites to increase exposure and communicate with their fanbase.
