When an earthquake happens and if you are indoors, stay there until the earthquakes stops. Do not go near windows, mirrors, fireplaces, heavy furniture, or hanging objects. Do not open the stove during an earthquake. But if you are take cover. If you are driving, slow down and stop on the side of the road. Don't go under cable wires. After the earthquakes check that anybody is hurt or injured. Check if the building is damaged. But if it is damaged ask a safety inspected to inspect the building. If you smell  gas leak, get everyone out side and open window and doors to let the smell out.
