The 8 Amazing Planets

There use to be NINE planets, but now there are EIGHT planets, because of 8 planets the scientists discovered that Pluto is NOT a planet. Scientists think that Pluto is just a meteor, they also say it's a dwarf planet. So, now there are only 8 planets left Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Earth, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn. The planet we live in is the third planet " Earth." The planets come in different sizes and shape, some have rings and some don't. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Saturn has the most set of rings, it could have as many as 500 to 100 rings. The planets go around the sun, it is called an " orbit." Planets take the leftovers from the stars that died to make a planet. The star ignites, therefore it is surrounded by dust which is like mountain-sized chunks. With the dust, it forms a planet.

Information about Mercury:

Mercury got its name from the Romans. It is the closest planet to the sun. Mercury is the first planet. It is brownish and tan. Mercury is the second smallest planet in the solar system. It is so small that it is smaller then Jupiter's moon, Ganymede and Saturn's moon Titan. It's diameter is 40% smaller than the Earth and 40% larger then the moon.

Information about Venus:

Venus was known as the morning star and the evening star. Venus was also named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Astronomers refer that Venus is the Earth's sister. To prove that they are both sisters they have the same size, mass, density, volume, and they were both formed out at the same time. But Venus is very different then Earth, some differences is Venus has no oceans. Venus is very hot, it is so hot that the surface is 482 degree Celsius.

Do you know what planet we live in ? The answer to the question is we live in the third planet which is " Earth." It is big and sturdy, Earth is also full of air and water. That is how we could survive on Earth.

Earth travels 108, 000 kilometers which is 67,000 miles an hour! It takes 365.256 days for the Earth to travel around the Sun.

Mars is the fourth planet in the solar system. It has a reddish fire color which makes people call Mars the " Red Planet" The Egyptians call Mars " Her Descher " which means the red one. Another reason they call it a red planet is because of the chemical weathering of its iron-rich rocks.

Jupiter is the fifth planet. It has an Easter-egg appearance due to its colorful color. Jupiter has the most matter even if you combine all the planets, Jupiter will still have more matter.

Information about Saturn:

Saturn is the sixth planet . It is the second largest planet in the solar system. Saturn has a shade of blue sapphire and a mint green color. This vivid planet has 30 moons. They are Ymir, Thrymur, Suttungr, Mundilfari, Tarvos, Siarnaq, Erriapo, Albiorix, Skathi, Paaliaq, Phoebe, Ijiraq, Kiviuq, Iapetus, Hyperion, Titan, Rhea, Helene, Dione, Calypso, Telesto, Tethys, Enceladus, Mimas, Janus, Epimetheus, Pandora, Prometheus, Atlas, an Pan.

Information about Uranus:

Uranus is the sixth planet. Uranus is the third largest planet in the solar system. It was first discovered by William Hershel. It has moons, the two largest moons are Titania and Oberon.

Information about Neptune :

Neptune is the eighth planet from the solar system. It was discovered by European astronomers in 1846. It has eight moons. Neptune has a aqua-blue color because of its clouds. It is the strongest winds out of all the planets.

Information about Pluto :

Pluto is a dwarf planet, It is NOT a planet anymore. It is in Neptune's orbit, it will come back in the usual rank " 1999." Pluto has a long, oval, and curved orbit. This dwarf planet is the outermost planet which means that is it is the most outer outside planet.
