                    The beautiful color seahorses belong to the most marvelous and most remarkable organisms of the seas.  Really a seahorse is quite a normal fish. It just comes along in a very special dress.  There are about 35 different kinds of species of  seahorses.  They are spread all over the world.  Only a small amount of this variet is often imported for the aquarist purposes.

                     Seahorses are vertebrates.  Really their taxanomic classification of the kingdoms animal,  phylum Chordata, sub-phylum Vertebrata, Class Osteichthyes and Order Perciformes.  They are related to the family Syngnathidae  (which is Greek) and gnathos - jaw (which is also Greek.) They include seadragons,   pipetisles and pipe horses.  Seahoses make up the genus Hippocampus ( which is Greek) and campos (which means sea animal in Greek) and campos (which means seaanimal in Greek.)
