Barbara is Executive Director of ThinkQuest, New York City.  Before heading ThinkQuest NYC, Barbara held senior management positions at priceline.com, CIGNA and TWA.   Her expertise is in marketing, strategy and planning.

She currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Mutual Trust Financial Group, Publishers Clearing House and GG Bailey.  She has served on numerous not for profit boards including ThinkQuest NYC, Wildlife Trust, Plays for Living and Innovation Network (Chair, 2005-2007). Barbara also serves on a number of advisory boards/councils including: AMEC Americas, the Council on Competitiveness and the marketing council of the American Management Association.

Ms. Colwell earned her MBA from Columbia University.  She is a member of the Women’s Forum and until 2008 taught a graduate course in global strategy at GW’s School of International Affairs.  Married with grown children, Barbara resides in New York City.
